Terms of Use

The rules for turning your artwork into something that draws itself.

Effective August 23, 2026 · Version 2026-08-23.1

The short version

Use content you have permission to use. You may use your generated video for personal or commercial projects. Review AI output before sharing it, and treat your private session link like a key.

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Boring Stuff Club (“Boring Stuff Club,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of The Scribble Thing and related websites, tools, and services (collectively, the “Service”). By submitting content or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.

If you cannot legally agree to these Terms yourself, you may use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to them for you. The Service is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.

2. What the Service does

The Service uses automated and artificial-intelligence systems to analyze submitted artwork and instructions, plan a drawing order, and generate a scribe-style animation. Features, limits, output formats, processing times, and availability may change as the Service evolves.

3. Your content and permissions

You retain any rights you have in artwork, instructions, and other material you submit (“User Content”). You represent that you own the User Content or have all permissions needed to submit it and allow us to process it.

You grant Boring Stuff Club a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, analyze, transform, render, and display User Content only as needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support the Service. This license ends when the relevant content is deleted from our active systems, except where a longer period is required by law or needed to resolve abuse, security, or legal issues.

4. Content you must not submit

Do not submit or use the Service for content that:

  • is unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, exploitative, or promotes harm;
  • infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights;
  • contains highly sensitive personal information, including passwords, authentication secrets, government identifiers, financial-account information, private medical information, biometric identifiers, or intimate content;
  • depicts child sexual abuse or exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, or other illegal sexual content;
  • contains malware or is intended to probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass the Service or its safeguards; or
  • misrepresents AI-generated output as authentic evidence in a deceptive or harmful way.

We may reject or remove content and restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or others.

5. AI-generated results

AI and automated processing can misunderstand artwork or instructions and may omit, alter, reorder, or invent details. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, unexpected, or similar to content created for others. You are responsible for reviewing each result and deciding whether it is appropriate and lawful to use. Do not rely on the Service for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or other professional decisions.

6. Using your generated video

Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you may use, reproduce, modify, publish, display, distribute, and commercially exploit videos generated for your session. This permission is worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, and non-exclusive, and applies to both watermarked previews and unlocked clean videos. You may not remove or obscure a watermark except through an authorized unlock.

Boring Stuff Club claims no ownership in your User Content. To the extent Boring Stuff Club owns any rights in a generated video, we grant you the rights described above. This permission does not grant rights in third-party material contained in your User Content or generated video. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary permissions and that your use does not infringe another person’s rights.

Generated videos may not be unique or eligible for copyright protection. We do not guarantee exclusivity, copyrightability, or freedom from third-party claims.

7. Sessions, links, and deletion

No account is required. A session is accessed through a personal link or Agent API bearer capability, and anyone who has that link or capability may be able to view or manage the session. Keep it private and share it only with intended recipients.

Uploaded artwork, instructions, intermediate files, and generated videos are kept in the Service for up to 24 hours and are then automatically deleted. You may delete a session sooner using the session page. Other records have different retention periods described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Free previews and video unlocks

The Service may provide a watermarked preview at no charge. A purchased unlock code removes the watermark from one animation. Unless the purchase page states otherwise, each code is single-use and expires 30 days after issuance.

Purchases are processed by Buy Me a Coffee and may also be subject to its terms. Prices and features may change before a purchase. If delivery fails or a purchase appears incorrect, contact inquiry@boringstuff.club. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

9. Service limits and acceptable use

You may not attempt to defeat rate limits, access another person’s session without permission, extract secrets, interfere with infrastructure, automate abusive traffic, resell access without permission, or remove a watermark except through an authorized unlock. We may apply upload, generation, and access limits and suspend or block activity that creates security, legal, or operational risk.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties for hosting, storage, analytics, AI processing, checkout, and email delivery. Their services may be unavailable or governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

11. Availability and changes

The Service is experimental and may be modified, interrupted, limited, or discontinued. We do not promise that any session or output will remain available beyond the stated retention window. Save anything you want to keep.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or that outputs will meet your requirements. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Boring Stuff Club and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from the Service. Our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify Boring Stuff Club against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.

15. Governing law

California law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in California will have jurisdiction over disputes, except where applicable consumer law requires another forum or governing law.

16. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. The effective date and version above identify the current Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page and apply prospectively. Questions may be sent to inquiry@boringstuff.club.
